What is the emergency childcare service?
This program was developed to assist the military community in maintaining an operational efficiency when faced with an emergency childcare need.
For example :
A spouse needing childcare assistance in the middle ofthe night when the member is deployed outside his working unit.
A parent who is suddenly unable physically or mentally to provide proper parenting care while the other parent is absent for military duty.
The emergency childcare and deployment services have a telephone help line allowing you to have access to theses services 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, in two different ways : during the Bagotville MFRC’s regular business hours from 8 h to 4 h 30 p.m. at 677-7468; after theses hours and on the week-end contact the Wing Operations Centre at 677-7273.
Following the first contact with the coordinator or the officer on duty, a childcare service provider may be sent to your home or your children may be brought to the drop-in daycare. Finally, terms and conditions of payments will need to be discussed with and approved only by the emergency childcare service ‘s coordinator.
