The purpose of the Bagotville MFRC's employment support program is to accompany the military spouses, the reservists and their spouses, and the teenagers of the community in their search for employment or educational training.
The employment support program is:
- Orientation and help for an active employment search
- Advice and technical support to prepare for an effective job search (résumés, presentation letters, business cards…)
- Information on educational programs available in the region
- Advice on how to perform well in an interview
- Help in networking (creating contacts in the region and discovering the employers in the area)
- Dynamic training on various themes related to the job market
- References on programs and employment groups
- Active listening and support
- Help to start your own business
- Projects which give you theoretical and practical assistance in your job search
- Help during a posting
How do I apply for employment counseling?
- First of all, you have to make an appointment with the employment coordinator
- On your first meeting, we identify/assess your needs and establish a job search strategy
- Assistance is available afterwards according to your needs
You can also reach the employment and second language team via e-mail prior to your arrival in Bagotville.
Employment Projects
Often, some individuals are trained within a specific context to give them the best chance of finding a good job in the region.
- Ambassadress project (pairing a spouse from the community with a working person for observation in the workplace)
- Monthly Café-contacts (meetings between job searchers in order to exchange tips and contacts)
- The Career mini-centre (job search documentation centre at Teen Town)
- Project " I count on myself for a job" (a life skills project to improve your basic qualifications for a job search)
